I love hearing our editors’ candid shopping recommendations—especially when it comes to those under-$100 pieces that look way more expensive than they are. So when I found out our Senior Editor Anna LaPlaca swears by a $50 pair of kitten heels from Nordstrom, I had to know more.

She shared, “I’ve put these sandals in countless stories at this point, so I had to finally see what they were like in person—and let me just say, they live up to every expectation and more. Featuring a square toe and a low, 1.5-inch heel height, they tap into one of the biggest sandal trends of the moment, thong heels, and honestly rival most of the designer styles on the market.”

“The thicker straps are one detail I love because it doesn’t just make them comfortable to wear, it lends a premium look that makes them stand apart from your average beach flip-flops. The leather isn’t too stiff and the sole has a small amount of cushioning, both of which make them immediately more comfortable than other heeled flip-flops I’ve worn.”

As someone who doesn’t love wearing high heels, I’m always looking for shoes that are under 2-inches and are actually walkable. Kitten heels are so chic, but often not-so-wearable—so I was excited to hear about a pair that passed the test.

As if I wasn’t already sold, she added, “I already have a strong feeling they’re about to become the only sandals I wear this summer. It’s difficult to find any buy-worthy shoes at $50 anymore, so considering how on-trend, comfortable, and versatile this pair is, they feel like a unicorn find.”
